HIS POSITION IN THE SILSILA:

Hadrat Asad al-Din Abu Mahfuz Shaykh Ma’roof Ibn Feroz al-Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho is the ninth Imam and Shaykh of the Silsila Aaliyah Qadiriyah Barakatiyah Ridawiyah Nooriyah.

BIRTH:

Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho was born in Karkh.

NAME:

His name is Asad al-Din and is famously known as Ma’roof Karkhi and Abu Mahfooz.

HIS FATHER:

His father’s name was Feroz. [Safinat al-Awliyah]

EDUCATION:

He attained all his knowledge under the watchful eye of Hadrat Imam Ali Rida Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho. [Tadhkirat al-Awliya]

HIS EARLY LIFE:

Initially, he was a non-Muslim, but even as a child, he had great love for Islam. He used to always spend his time in the company of Muslim children, and often talked to his parents about accepting Islam. His father was not pleased with this, and enrolled him to study under a Christian Priest. The first question the priest asked him was,

"Tell me my son, how many people are there in your family?" He said, "Myself, my father and my mother." The priest then said, "Very well, now say Esa Alaihis Salam is the third god of three (trinity)." Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, "Even during my time as a non-Muslim my heart did not accept to say what he commanded me to. When I refused to say this, he began to beat me severely. The more he beat me, the more I rejected his teaching. He finally became weary of me and asked my father to imprison me. I was thus locked in a room for three days and every day, I was given one bread, which I did not even touch. When I was taken out, I ran away. As I was the only child to my parents, they were very sad and they sent a message to me saying that I should return to them and I would have the right to accept whichever faith I wished, and that they too will accept the same faith. I then went to Hadrat Ali Rida Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho and accepted Islam at his hands. I then went home with this most valuable gift of Islam, and alHumdulillah, my parents also accepted Islam." SHAYKH-E-TARIQAT:

He became mureed of Hadrat Habeeb Raa’ee Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho and was blessed with Khilafat from Hadrat Habeeb Raa’ee Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho , Hadrat Ali Rida Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho and Hadrat Dawood Taa’ee Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho.

HIS TEACHERS:

He studied under the care of Hadrat Ali Rida Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho and also attained education from Hadrat Imam al-Aa’zam Abu Hanifa Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho . He attained spiritual training in the care of Hadrat Habeeb Raa’ee Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho .

HIS EXCELLENCE:

He was a very pious personality and one of the most distinguished Aarifs of his time. He also served many great personalities such as Hadrat Dawood Taa’ee Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho , who also blessed him with Khilafat. He used to call out the Adhan with true love, and when he would reach the words Ash hadu An Laa Ilaaha illa-Allah, the hair on his body would stand up and his entire beard would become stiff and he would begin to tremble to such an extent in the fear of Allah, that it seemed as if he would fall to the ground.

He would spend lengthy nights in the Masjid making ibaadat, Istighfaar and weeping in the Court of Allah. Hadrat Sirri al-Saqti Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho say, "Whatever I have attained, is through the Sadqa of Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho ."

Sayyidi Abdul Wahab Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, "I have not seen anyone who divorced himself from the world, like Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho . His excellence is such, that even his blessed grave is a means of attaining blessings." [Kashf al-Mahjoob]


HIS HABITS AND CHARACTER:

He possessed deep love for the poor and the orphans. Hadrat Sirri al-Saqti Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, "I once saw Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho gathering dates on the day of Eid, so I stopped and asked the reason for this. He said, ’That young boy is crying because all the other children have new clothes and he has nothing new on Eid day. I thus, decided to collect some dates, sell them and then buy something for him, so that he is kept busy playing and does not feel uncomfortable on the day of Eid.’" Hadrat Sirri Saqti Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, "I said, Huzoor there is no need for you to do this, I will make sure he gets something on Eid. I then took the boy with me and bought him a new set of clothes. After I did this, a Noor (light) entered my heart, which caused me great pleasure and my condition became very different." [Masaalik as-Saalikeen, Vol. 1, Page 287]

ALWAYS IN WUDHU:

Once his wudhu broke, so he immediately made tayammum. Those who saw him do this said, "Huzoor! The river Tigris is right in front of you. Why did you make tayammum?" He said, "It is possible that I may pass away by the time I reach the river Tigris"

HIS ABSTENTION FROM THE WORLD:

Once one of Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi’s Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho friends asked him the following, "What is it that has caused you to abstain from the world and from the creation of Allah, and remain in seclusion, remembering Almighty Allah? Is it the fear of Death and the grave, or the fear of Hell, or the enthusiasm of attaining Jannat?" Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho said, "O My Friend! You discuss such minor things. What are all these worth in front of the creator Almighty Allah? All these are but humble subjects of Almighty Allah. Once you taste the pleasure of his closeness, then you will not think of any of the other things (you have mentioned)."



KARAMAAT:

Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho is also a Sahib-e-Karaamat Wali. He has performed many charismatic marvels, of which only a few are being discussed. Once there was a bandit who was captured by the Governor and sentenced to being hanged. As per the command of the governor, the bandit was hanged and died due to hanging. His body was still hanging from the noose, when Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho passed by. When he saw this scene, he was very troubled, and began to make dua for forgiveness of the deceased. He said, "O Most Compassionate, Most Merciful! This person has attained his punishment for his actions in this world. O Allah! If you forgive him and bless him with respect in Deen, there it shall cause no shortage in Your Treasures of forgiveness." Immediately an unseen voice was heard saying, "Whomsoever prays the Janazah Salaah of the man on the noose, shall attain an exalted status in the hereafter." This voice was heard by the people in the entire town. On hearing this voice, people in town gathered quickly. They removed him from the noose, and gave him proper ghusl and kaffan. Then with much respect, they prayed his Janazah Salaah and buried him. That night a man dreamt that it was the Day of Reckoning, and the man who was hanged, was dressed in the best of clothing and was present in the ranks of the Namaazis. He asked him, how he received such excellence and the man replied, "Almighty Allah accepted the dua of Ma’roof Karkhi and pardoned me." [Masaalik as-Saalikeen, Vol. 1, Page 288]

Hadrat’s uncle was the Governor of the city. Once he was passing through the jungle, when he saw Hadrat Maroof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho sitting on the ground eating bread and there was a dog sitting not far away from him also eating bread which he had thrown to it. His uncle saw this and said, "Why are you having your bread so close to the dog?" On hearing this, Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho looked up and saw a bird flying in the sky. He commanded it to come and sit on his hand. The bird perched itself on his hand but out of respect and modesty, it covered its face and eyes with its wings. Hadrat said, "See, Everything is modest before a man who is modest before Allah."

Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho and some of his disciples were passing by the River Tigris, when they saw a group of youth who were engrossed in openly committing sin. On seeing this, some of Hadrat’s disciples requested that he make dua for their destruction, so that they evil habits do not pass over to others. Hadrat asked them all to lift their hands and say Aameen to his duas. He then said, "O Allah! Like you have given them the luxuries and freedom of this world, bless them with freedom and luxury in the hereafter." Everyone was amazed at his dua. He then said, "Do not be hasty. Wait a while and observe." The disciples saw that after a while, the youth saw Hadrat Maroof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho and immediately broke their musical instruments and and threw away their alcohol. They all began to weep and came to Hadrat and repented sincerely at his hands. Hadrat then looked at his disciples and said, "Did you see, that which I wished for was fulfilled."

GEMS OF WISDOM:

Some of the words of great wisdom that Hadrat mentioned are:
  • There are three signs of a true man, to fulfill ones promise, to praise without a motive and to give without being asked to give.
  • Protect the tongue from self praise, like you protect it from sinning.
  • He who is not a faqeer, is not a man of tasawwuf.
  • Close your eyes from all angles even if there is something in front of you.
  • Love is not attained through education and training, but is bestowed by Allah.
  • The solution to hardships and difficulties is to keep it hidden.
  • Even though an Aarif does not keep the bounties, but he is always engulfed by it.
  • Without deeds to hope for paradise is a sin. Without the completion of your sunnah to wish for intercession is a betrayal and boastfulness and without being subservient to have expectations of mercy is ignorance and foolishness.
  • Those that are hungry for wealth will never attain complete satisfaction.
  • To elaborate on a topic that benefits nobody is signs and proofs of being astray.
  • Just as you find it distasteful to listen to bad, so too you should safeguard yourself from singing praises.
  • Whenever the creator wishes well upon his servant he opens the doors of good deeds upon him.
  • Close your eyes to everyone especially never ever look with ill intent towards anybody.
  • Love is such a thing that cannot be shown or taught.
  • When you forsake this World, leave behind everything for if you have in your heart but even an atom of what belongs to the World then even in prostration you should not be able to forget it.
  • Whatever afflicts you from misfortunes and calamities its success is in its secrecy?
  • Open shirk is devotion to speech and hidden shirk is to rely on the creation.
  • Humbleness is when you meet anyone then regard that person as better than you, whether he be big or small, an 'Alim or a Jahil (ignorant) or a Muslim or a Kafir.
  • An intelligent person is he who would do on the first day that which he would do on the third day when he is struck by misfortune.
  • It had been asked, “What is the remedy for the troubles of the World?” It was said: “Stay far away from the creation and be close to the creator.”
  • It has been said a dervish never is greedy for anything. If somebody gives without asking them he never refuses. When he takes he never hoards or stores.
  • A woman’s mentor is her husband, in the search of truth although he himself is not a seeker of the truth.
  • If anybody betrays or cheats me in the name of ALLAH SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala then I will accept the betrayal.
  • Even if you see an innovator of religion fly in the air then too you should never accept him.
  • Even if a pious person is found committing a sin then too it does not become lawful or permissible.
  • The destruction caused by associating with the rich are beyond the boundaries of writing, safeguard yourself! Safeguard yourself!!
  • Knowledge is male while action is its opposite i.e. female. Religion is obtained by doing work in the World.
  • The person who does a good deed with the intention of rewards in the hereafter is a merchant. The person who does a good deed because of the fear of hell is a slave, just as a slave out of fear of a whipping continues to work. The person who does a good deed for ALLAH SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala alone is noble and free.
  • To associate with a sinner is to sanction his sins, and to sanction sins is equivalent to committing it.
  • Worship is useless without firm belief.

WISAAL SHARIF: He passed away on a Friday or Saturday, on the 2nd of Muharram, 200 Hijri. After his demise, Hadrat Muhammad bin Abul Hussain Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, that he saw Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho in his dream and he asked him how Almighty Allah had treated him. He said, Almighty Allah pardoned me, not because of my piety but because of what I heard from Hadrat Samaak Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho in Kufa, when he said, ’He who leaves all ties and turns towards Allah, then Allah Almighty Allah sends his Mercy towards him and he turns all his servants in his direction.’ I followed this advice of his and turned completely towards Allah, and with the exception of the Khidmat of Hadrat Ali Rida Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho I left everything else.

Hadrat Sirri al-Saqti Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, "I dreamt that Hadrat Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho was seated totally absorbed in the love of Allah, under the Arsh and Almighty Allah said, 'O Angels! Who is this?’ the Angels said, O Allah You are All Knowing. There is nothing hidden from You.' Almighty Allah said, 'This is Ma’roof Karkhi who is drowned in My love and closeness and until he does not make my Deedar he will not regain his consciousness and neither will he gain contentment without my Deedar.'"

MAZAAR SHARIF: His Mazaar Sharif is in Baghdad Sharif. Hadrat Sirri al-Saqti Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho says, "When you are faced with any difficulty, then say, "O Allah! Assist me through the Sadqa of Ma’roof Karkhi Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho ." All your problems shall be solved (inshaALLAH).

پاکستان کا مطلب کیا ۔۔۔۔ ؟؟

یہ میرا پاکستان ہے' اس کی چھاتی پر رواں دواں دریا' اس کی آغوش سے پھوٹتی رحمتوں کے سلسلے' اس کے آنگن میں رقص کرتی ندیاں' اس کے پہاڑوں میں اچھلتے کودتے چشمے' اس کے میدانوں میں شاداں و فرہاں پری رو درخت' زیبا بدن سبزے' نورنگ پھول' پھیلتی سمٹتی روشنیاں' رشک مرجاں شبنمی قطرے' لہلہاتی فصلیں' مسکراتے چمن' جہاں تاب بہاریں اور گل پرور موسم اس کی عظمت کے گیت گا رہے ہیں۔ اس کے پنجابوں پر جھکے جھکے آفاق' اس کی سرحدوںِپر پھیلی پھیلی فضائیں' اس کے بام و تخت کے بوسہ لیتے آسمان اس کے حسن تقدیر کے نقوش بن کر ابھر رہے ہیں۔ یہ میرا ملک بھی ہے' یہ میری تقدیر بھی ہے۔یہ میری داستان بھی ہے' یہ میرا ارماں بھی ہے۔ یہ میری مچلتی آرزو بھی ہے' یہ میری آرزوؤں کا آستاں بھی ہے' میرے خون کے قطروں میں لکھت میں وہ عزم و حوصلہ نہیںجو اس کے آبی قطروں میں ہے۔ میرے دیدہ وچشم کی جھیلوں میں وہ جمال نہیں جو رومان و حسن اس کے جوہڑوں اور تالابوں میں ہے۔ میرے وجود کی مٹی میں وہ دلکشی نہیں جو جاذب نظر اور دلفریبی اس کی خاک میں ہے۔ یہ پھولوں کی دھرتی ہے۔ یہ خوشبوؤں کا مسکن ہے۔ یہ نظاروں کا دیس ہے۔ یہ رحمتوں کی جولانگاہ ہے۔ یہ روشنیوں کا کشور ہے۔ یہ اجالوں کا مصدر ہے۔ اس پر نثار میرے دل وجاں۔ اس پر تصدق میری جز ہائے بدن۔ یہ محض میرا ملک نہیں میرا ایماں بھی ہے' میری جاں بھی ہے' اس کے دکھ مجھے دکھ دیتے ہیں' اس کے سینے سے اٹھنے والے مسائل کے ہوکے میرے دل میں چھبنے والی سوئیاں ثابت ہوتے ہیں۔ اس کی طرف کوئی ٹیڑھی نظر سے دیکھے تو گویا وہ آنکھ نہیں' میرے جسم میں پیوست ہونے والا تیر ہوتا ہے۔

یہ نظریئے' یہ احساس' یہ سوچیں' یہ افکاریہ' یہ درد' یہ آرزوئیں' یہ ولولے اور یہ تمنائیں کسی ایک شخص کے نہیں' ہر پاکستانی کی ہیں اور پاکستانی ہونے کے ناطے ہم سب اپنے ملک کی محبت اور عقیدت میں گرفتار ہیں۔ لیکن یہ بھی سوچتے ہیں کہ ہمارے ملک کی سرکیں' ہمارے وطن کی شاہراہیں' ہمارے دیس کی وادیاں' ہمارے کشور ناز کے صحرا' ہمارے پنجاب کے میدان' ہمارے سرحد کے پربت' ہمارے بلوچستان کے ٹیلے' ہمارے سندھ کے ریگزار قتل گاہیں کیوں بن گئیں۔ یہاں نفرتوںکے کانٹے کس نے بوئے؟ یہاں بارود کے دھوؤں میں ہم وطنوں کا خون کس نے بکھیرا۔ الفت و محبت کے نغموں کو بے سازوبے آوازکس نے کیا؟ ناقص اور غلط افکار کے آوارہ اور بے نسل ہاتھیوں کو دشت وطن میں دوڑنے کا موقع کس نے فراہم کیاکہ گلی گلی حسد وبغض کی خاک اڑنے لگی۔ تہذیب و تمدن کی بساط پر حیا سوزی کی آگ کون روشن کرگیا کہ ملت عریانیت اور فحاشی کی ناز بے کراں میں جلنے لگی۔ جدھر دیکھتے ہیں جسے دیکھتے ہیں' حالات کی ظلمتیں جیسے مقدر کے ساتھ کھیل رہی ہوں۔۔۔۔۔۔!!!

ہم خونیں بدن لئے' ہم مجروح جسم لئے' ہم گھائل دل لئے' ہم امستے افکار لئے 'ہم بے حال وجود لئے اور ہم فگار قلب و جگر لئے منزل ڈھونڈنے' سہارا تلاش کرنے' وسیلہ پکڑنے علماء کے درودولت پر حاضری دیتے ہیں۔ علماء کرام! بچالو ہمیں۔ ہم دروازہ کھٹکھٹاتے ہیں مشائخ عظام کا'

مشائخ عظام! بچالو ہمیں۔ بچالو ہمارے ملک کو! ہماری ملت کو' ہم سنتے ہیں تمہارے پاس دین ہے۔ کہاں ہے تمہارا دین؟ بچاؤ بچاؤ کہ ہم جل رہے ہیں۔ ہم ڈوب رہے ہیں۔ ہمارا ملک بھنور میں پھنسا ہوا ہے۔ اسے نفرتوں کی چڑیلیں چمٹ گئی ہیں۔ اسے عصبیتوں کے سانپ کانٹ رہے ہیں۔ اسے علاقہ پرستیوں کے بچھو ڈس رہے ہیں۔ خدارا! مدد کرو۔ تم کب تک حسین بحثوں اور دلکش مناظروں کے سوداگر بنے رہوگے؟ اپنے علم کو زحمت آفرین مت بناؤ۔ رحمت پرور بناؤ' لفظ بازی کے میدان سے نکل کر قوم کی امامت کرو' دیکھو ساری قوم تمہارے دروازے پر کھڑی ہے' لگتا ایسے ہے کہ یہ چشمہ فیض بھی کبھی جاری تھا لیکن اب خشک ہوچکا ہے۔ محسوس ایسے ہوتا ہے کہ یہ دریائے رحمت کبھی انسانیت کو سیراب کرتا تھا۔ اب اس کے سوتے بے فیض ہوچکے ہیں۔ سمجھ یہ آتی ہے کہ یہ رسی کبھی خدا تک پہنچانے کا سلیقہ رکھتی تھی۔ لیکن اب اس کا اپنا ناتا عرش سے کٹ چکا ہے۔ رسم اذاں ہے روح بلالی رضی اﷲ عنہ نہیں۔ وجود نماز ہے قلب علی رضی ﷲ عنہ نہیں۔ ادائے زکواۃ ہے حکمت عثمانی رضی اﷲ عنہ نہیں۔ مناسک دین ہے فراست بوذر رضی اﷲ عنہ نہیں۔ شیریں مقالی ہے عشق حسان رضی اﷲ عنہ نہیں۔ اہتمام تدریس ہے تلقین غزالی رضی اﷲ عنہ نہیں۔۔۔۔۔۔!!!

علمائے کرام! مشائخ عظام!

تمہارے وجود میں دین مبین کا آب صافی کبھی گدلا نہ ہوتا' تمہارے فیض کا دریائے نور کبھی خشک نہ ہوتا' اگر تم میں ایسے لوگ نہ پیدا ہوجاتے جو خالق پر مخلوق کو ترجیح دیتے ہیں اور ان کی بوالہوسیاں فیضی وابوالفضل کو بھی شرمسار کردیتی ہیں۔ ہم اہل اسلام' اہل وطن اگر خود تار تار وجود نہ رکھتے ہوتے اور ہماری اپنی شرم سوزیاں اور حیاء سازیاں اگر حد انتہا تک نہ پہنچ چکی ہوتیں تو ہم تمہیں کبھی معاف نہ کرتے لیکن تم اور ہم سب ایک بگڑی ہوئی قوم کا حصہ ہیں۔ اس لئے آؤ شاید ہمارے سیاستدان اور حکمران ہمیں سنبھالا دیں لیکن یہاں بھی دکھتا یہ ہے کہ ہمارا وزن زیادہ ہے اور ہماری سیاست کے ناخداؤں کے سفینے تنگ ظرف ہیں۔ ان کے کمزور اور ناتواں ہاتھ زندگی کی ناؤ کھینچنے میں شاید کامیاب نہیں ہوسکے۔ انہیں فرصت ہی نہیں دولت سازیوں سے' انہیں موقع ہی نہیں دے رہیں' ان کی ہوس افزونیاں' انہیں سوچنے ہی نہیں دیتیں' دنیا پرستیاں' وہ شرمسار لذت کام و دھن میں' وہ سرگرداں ہیں' مستی عیش و عشرت میں' وہ مبتلا ہیں فریب حکم و حکمت میں' وہ محو ہیں قوم کی سادہ سازی اور سادہ گری میں۔ ان کے جسم پاکستانی ہیں اور روحیں پردیسی ہیں۔ ان کے بدن پاکستانی ہیں ان کے ضمیر بدیسی ہیں۔ بقول شخصے۔

اس کے بھی مقدر میں وہی در بدری ہے
 برباد میری طرح نسیم سحری ہے
میری روح کے مطاف میرے وطن
میرے دل کے مدار میرے دیس
میری آنکھ کے منظر شوق میرے وطن
میری چشم کے منظر جمالی میری دیس

آج تیری قسمت لکھنے والے قلم تلواریں بن گئے۔ آج تیری حفاظت کرنے والے تلواریں کھجور کی خشک شدہ ٹہنیاں ہوگئیں۔ آج تیری ترقی کے لئے سوچنے والے دماغ خشک گوشت کی سڑی ہوئی بوٹیاں بن گئے۔ آج تیری عظمت کے ترانے الاپنے والے شاعر محبوبوں کی زلف ہائے بے سود میں الجھی ہوئی جوئیں ہوگئے۔ آج تیری عظمت کے گیت گانے والوں کے گلوں میں مفاد کی ہڈیاں پھنس گئیں۔

''میرے وطن پاکستان''

تیری گودمیں پھر وہ نوجوان حسن کی بہاریں کب بکھیریں گچن کا مقدر' جن کا نعرہ' جن کا شوق اور جن کی لگن بس یہی ہوگی۔

پاکستان کا مطلب کیا ۔۔۔۔ لاالہ اﷲ اﷲ محمد رسول اﷲ صلی اللہ تعالی علیہ وآلہ وسلم

میرے وطن! تیرے سرپر دست شفقت رکھنے والے بوڑھے پیر بزرگ کب نشہ مرگ سے باہر آئیں گے کہ تجھے بصیرت اور تدبر کا نور ملے گا۔

''میرے دیس'' تیری چھاتی پر کرکٹ کے بلوں اور ہاکی کی گیندوں سے کھیلنے والوں کو کب فرصت ملے گی کہ وہ کیل و کانٹوں سے لیس ہوکر تیری حفاظت کے لئے بیڑہ اٹھائیں گے۔

''میرے کشور ناز'' میری روح' میرے جگر' تیری تاریخ ماں بیٹیوں کا جنون حسن آرائی اور نشہ شرم سوزی کب دم مرگ دم لے گا کہ وہ تجھے حوصلوں اور پاکیزہ جذبوں کی آغوش میں لے کر پائندہ و زندہ رہنے کی لوری سنائیں گے۔

''میرے وطن'' تو میری زبان ہوجا۔ میرے وطن تو میری آہ بن جا۔ میرے وطن تو عظیم جذبوں میں ڈھل کر بول' آواز دے' ہنگامہ کھڑا کری۔ آج وقت ہے شور مچا اپنوں کو بلا' اپنی برادری کو اکھٹا کر اور صدا لگا۔

اپنی ہی قلفیاں سمجھ کر مجھے لوٹنے والو' میں نہ رہا تو تمہاری عیاشیاں بھی نہ رہیں گی۔ میں نہ رہا تو تمہاری سیاستوں کا بھی مندہ پڑ جائے گا۔ میں نہ رہا تو تمہارے فلک بوس محل بھی گل مردہ کی طرح بے رونق ہوجائیں گے۔ میں نہ رہا تو تمہارے ارمانوں اور آرزوؤں کے سہاگ اجڑ جائیں گے۔ تمہاری شاہ شیریوں کی براتیں لٹ جائیں گی۔ تمہارے سروں کے عمامے گرہ در گرہ بکھر جائیں گے اور تمہاری عزت کی عبائیں اور قبائیں تار تار ہوجائیں گی۔

میرے پھول وطن ۔۔۔۔۔۔ میرے خوشبو دیس
آ تو بھی بول آ میں بھی بولوں
تو بی دعا کر آ میں بھی پکاروں
نور شریعت دے دے مولا
شبنم عظمت دے دے مولا
در رفعت عطا کر مولا

استحکام کی شہدیں نہریں ہوں اور شہد کے دریا بہہ جائیں' زہر کے ساگر ٹوٹ پڑیں اور بغض کے بادل چھٹ جائیں۔ چپہ چپہ رحمت مولا' قدم قدم نور ورنگ' لحظہ لحظہ نظر کرم' لمحہ لمحہ نظر کرم' گام گام اجالے اگیں اور بستی بستی روشنی برسے۔

صدقہ میرے داتا رحمتہ اﷲ علیہ کا
واسطہ میرے غوث اعظم رحمتہ اﷲ علیہ کا تجھ کو
مجھے حفظ میں لے مجھے امن سے رکھ!

میری باغوں کے گلدانوں کا' میرے صحرا کے آتش دانوں کا' میرے ذروں اور ستاروں کا' میری بہاروں اور گلزاروں کا' میرے جوبن مست پہاڑوں کا' میری قاری خو آبشاروں کا' میرے سپنوں اور میرے خوابوں کا' میرے آبی موروں اور مرغابیوں کا' میرا کون ہے تیرے سوا مولا!!

ڈاکو لوٹیں عالم سوئیں حاکم سوئیں عالم لوٹیں
حاکم لوٹیں شہری سوئیں اور شہری لوٹیں سب لٹیرے
 میں بے چارہ میں بے بس میں مظلوم میں مقہور

قد افلح من ذکھا
۔۔۔ قد خاب من دسھا

Excellence and Virtues of the Second caliph of Islam Sayyiduna Umar Ibn al-Khattab Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu

All praise is for Allah who ennobled the ability of those who desire to be his servants. I testify that there is no deity except Allah, the King of the distressed and the happy, I testify that our master Muhammad is his beloved Messenger, who establishes the right path, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his family, his companions and the outstanding leaders.

The excellence and virtues of the second caliph of Islam, Sayyiduna Umar al-Farooq, may Allah be pleased with him, are more than can be counted. Here, I am mentioning the most famous ones. I only wish to bless myself by serving him by this remnant to benefit he who does not know much of his virtues by the ignorance before him. This small collection of Traditions will in sha Allah increase and elevate his rank in our hearts and minds and tell us of his exalted status in the court of Almighty Allah and His beloved Messenger SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam.

1. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both the father and the son) reports the Holy Prophet, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him, as saying:


اللهم أعز الإسلام بأبى جهل بن هشام أو بعمر. قال فأصبح فغدا عمر على رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فأسلم
"O Allah, strengthen Islam with Abu Jahl bin Hisham or Umar bin Khattab." In the morning Umar went to the Holy Prophet, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him, and embraced Islam. [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith 3683]

2. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both the father and the son) narrates when Sayyiduna Umar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu accepted Islam, Jibraeel Alaihis Salam descent and said:


يا محمد لقد استبشر أهل السماء بإسلام عمر
"O Muhammad – may Allah send greetings and salutations on him – indeed, the residents of the heavens are rejoicing in Umar`s embracing Islam." [Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 103]

3. It is related that Sayyiduna 'Abdullah Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said,


ما زلنا أعزة منذ أسلم عمر
"We have become mighty since 'Umar became Muslim." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3481]

4. Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him, said:


لو كان بعدى نبى لكان عمر بن الخطاب
If there were to be a prophet after me, indeed he would be Umar, son of Khattab. [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith 3686]

5. It is related that Sayyiduna Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,


رأيتنى دخلت الجنة ، فإذا أنا بالرميصاء امرأة أبى طلحة وسمعت خشفة ، فقلت من هذا فقال هذا بلال . ورأيت قصرا بفنائه جارية ، فقلت لمن هذا فقال لعمر . فأردت أن أدخله فأنظر إليه ، فذكرت غيرتك » . فقال عمر بأمى وأبى يا رسول الله أعليك أغار طرفاه
"I dreamt that I entered the Garden and there was ar-Rumaysa', the wife of Abu Talha. I heard a faint sound and said, 'Who is this?' He said, 'This is Bilal.' I saw a palace with a girl in its courtyard and said, 'Who does this belong to?' They said, ''Umar.' I wanted to enter it and look at it but then I remembered your self-esteem.' 'Umar said, 'By my mother and father, Messenger of Allah, would I consider self-esteem on account of you?'" [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3476]

6. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with both the father and the son) narrates that one day the Holy Prophet, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him, went out and entered the mosque with Abu Bakr and Umar, one on his right hand and the other on his left, holding their hands. Then he said:


هكذا نبعث يوم القيامة
"We will be raised thus on the Day of Resurrection." [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith 3669]

7. Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both the father and the son) narrates:


قال عمر لأبى بكر يا خير الناس بعد رسول الله. فقال أبو بكر أما إنك إن قلت ذاك فلقد سمعت رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يقول ما طلعت الشمس على رجل خير من عمر
Umar said to Abu Bakr, "O best of men after Allah`s Messenger, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him!" Abu Bakr replied, "Seeing that you have that, (I would also tell you that) I heard Allah`s Messenger, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him, say, "The sun has not risen on a better man than Umar."" [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith 3684]

8. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with both the father and the son) narrates that Allah`s Messenger, may Allah send greetings and salutations on him, said,


إن الله جعل الحق على لسان عمر وقلبه
"Indeed, Allah has placed truth upon Umar`s tongue and heart." [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith 2682]

9. It is related from Sayyiduna Abu Hamzah that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,


بينا أنا نائم شربت - يعنى اللبن - حتى أنظر إلى الرى يجرى فى ظفرى أو فى أظفارى ، ثم ناولت عمر. فقالوا فما أولته قال العلم
"While I was asleep, I dreamt that I drank (milk) until I could feel moisture coming out of my nails and then I gave it to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab." They asked, "How do you interpret it, Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "It means knowledge." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3478]

10. It is related that Sayyiduna 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,


أريت فى المنام أنى أنزع بدلو بكرة على قليب ، فجاء أبو بكر فنزع ذنوبا أو ذنوبين نزعا ضعيفا ، والله يغفر له ، ثم جاء عمر بن الخطاب فاستحالت غربا ، فلم أر عبقريا يفرى فريه حتى روى الناس وضربوا بعطن
"I dreamt that I was at a well drawing water with a young camel's bucket, Abu Bakr came and drew one or two buckets, but there was some weakness in his drawing. May Allah forgive him. Then 'Umar ibn al-Khattab came and it turned into a large bucket in his hand. I have not seen a leader among the people work so well as he did until the people watered their camels." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3479]

11. It is related that Sayyiduna Sa'id ibn Abi Waqqas said,


استأذن عمر بن الخطاب على رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ، وعنده نسوة من قريش يكلمنه ويستكثرنه ، عالية أصواتهن على صوته فلما استأذن عمر بن الخطاب قمن فبادرن الحجاب فأذن له رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فدخل عمر ورسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يضحك ، فقال عمر أضحك الله سنك يا رسول الله . فقال النبى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - « عجبت من هؤلاء اللاتى كن عندى فلما سمعن صوتك ابتدرن الحجاب » . فقال عمر فأنت أحق أن يهبن يا رسول الله . ثم قال عمر يا عدوات أنفسهن ، أتهبننى ولا تهبن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فقلن نعم ، أنت أفظ وأغلظ من رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - . فقال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إيها يا ابن الخطاب والذى نفسى بيده ما لقيك الشيطان سالكا فجا قط إلا سلك فجا غير فجك
"'Umar asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for permission to enter while there were some women of Quraysh with him who speaking to him and asking him for more, raising their voices above his voice. When 'Umar ibn al-Khattab asked for permission to enter, they rushed to screen themselves. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave him permission and 'Umar entered while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was laughing. 'Umar said, 'May Allah make you laugh, Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'I am amazed at those women who were with me. When they heard your voice, they rushed to screen themselves.' 'Umar said, 'But you, Messenger of Allah, are more entitled to be feared.' Then he said, 'O enemies of your selves! Do you fear me and not fear the Messenger of Allah?' They said, 'Yes, you are harsher and more severe than the Messenger of Allah.' The Messenger of Allah said, 'O Ibn al-Khattab! By the One in whose hand my soul is, whenever Shaytan finds you taking a path, he only takes a path other than your path.'" [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3480]

12. It is related that Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas said,


وضع عمر على سريره ، فتكنفه الناس يدعون ويصلون قبل أن يرفع ، وأنا فيهم ، فلم يرعنى إلا رجل آخذ منكبى ، فإذا على فترحم على عمر ، وقال ما خلفت أحدا أحب إلى أن ألقى الله بمثل عمله منك ، وايم الله ، إن كنت لأظن أن يجعلك الله مع صاحبيك ، وحسبت أنى كنت كثيرا أسمع النبى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يقول ذهبت أنا وأبو بكر وعمر ، ودخلت أنا وأبو بكر وعمر ، وخرجت أنا وأبو بكر وعمر
"'Umar ibn al-Khattab who had been placed on his bed, and the people gathered around him to make supplication and pray before he was removed. I was among them. I was startled when a man took hold of my shoulders, and it was 'Ali ibn Abi Talib. He asked for mercy for 'Umar and said, 'You have not left behind anyone I would prefer to encounter with the like of your actions. By Allah, I used to think that Allah would put you with your two companions. I reckoned this as I often heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "I and Abu Bakr and 'Umar went..." and "I and Abu Bakr and 'Umar entered..." and "I and Abu Bakr and 'Umar left."'" [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3482]

13. It is added that Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra said that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,


لقد كان فيمن كان قبلكم من بنى إسرائيل رجال يكلمون من غير أن يكونوا أنبياء ، فإن يكن من أمتى منهم أحد فعمر
"Among the tribe of Israel before you were men who were spoken to without being Prophets. If there are any of them among my community, then it is 'Umar." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3486]

14. It is related that Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say,


بينا أنا نائم رأيت الناس عرضوا على وعليهم قمص ، فمنها ما يبلغ الثدى ، ومنها ما يبلغ دون ذلك ، وعرض على عمر وعليه قميص اجتره . قالوا فما أولته يا رسول الله قال الدين
'While I was asleep, I dreamed I saw some people who were shown to me and who were wearing shirts some of which reached to their breasts and some of which were shorter than that. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab was shown to me wearing a shirt that was trailing on the ground.' They asked, 'How do you interpret that, Messenger of Allah?' He answered, 'The Religion.'" [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3488]

15. The son of Sayyiduna Ali
Radi Allahu Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, Imam Muhammad bin Hanafiyya Radi Allahu Allahu Ta'ala Anhu narrates:


قلت لأبى أى الناس خير بعد رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال أبو بكر . قلت ثم من قال ثم عمر
'I asked my father who was the best of people after the Holy Prophet and he answered "Abu Bakr". I asked him who is the best of people after Abu Bakr and he replied, "Umar"' [Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Hadith 3468]

16. Hadrat Abdullah bin Salma Radi Allahu Allahu Ta'ala Anhu reports from Sayyiduna Ali
Radi Allahu Allahu Ta'ala Anhu ,


خیر الناس بعد رسول الله صلی الله تعالی علیه وسلم ابوبكر وخیر الناس بعد ابوبكر عمر
'After the Noble Messenger, the best of people is Abu Bakr, then the best of people is Umar' [Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 111]

17. Narrated by Sayyiduna Hudhaifa Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, He said: Beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam said,


اقتدوا باللذين من بعدي أبي بكر و عمر
“Follow after me from my companions Abu-Bakr and 'Umar.” [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith 3742]

18. Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said:


لو وضع علم عمر في كفة ميزان و وضع علم الناس في كفة لرجح علم عمر
"If the knowledge of 'Umar was put on one side of a scale, and the knowledge of the people on the other side of the scale, 'Umar's knowledge would weigh more." [Al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahîhayn‎, Vol. 3, Page 92, Hadith 4497]

19. Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal records a hadith narrated upon the authority of Sayyiduna Qabisah ibn Jaabir who said:


ما رأيت رجلا أعلم بالله ولا أقرأ لكتاب الله ولا أفقه في دين الله من عمر
I haven't seen anyone more knowledgeable about the book of Allah and His religion, nor anyone more upholding of the limits imposed by Allah, nor anyone more feared and respected in the breasts of men than 'Umar ibn Al-Khattaab. [Fadail al-Sahaba, Vol. 1, Page 330, Hadith 472]

20. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah ennoble his face) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


أبوبكر وعمر سيدا كهول أهل الجنة من الأولين والآخرين، ما خلا النبيين والمرسلين
“Abu Bakr and `Umar are the leaders of the mature inhabitants of Paradise, of the first and the last with the exception of the Prophets and the Messengers.” [Jami' al-Ahadith, Hadith 233]

21. Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


أبو بكر وعمر من هذا الدين كمنزلة السمع والبصر من الرأس
“Abu Bakr and Umar are to the religion like the station of the hearing and the sight to the head.” [Al-Khattib in Tarikh, Vol. 8, Page 459 from Jabir]

22. Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


أبو بكر وعمر مني بمنزلة هارون من موسى
“Abu Bakr and Umar are to me in the station of Haroon from Musa.” [Al-Khattib in Tarikh, Vol. 5, Page 194]

23. Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


عمر مني وأنا من عمر، والحق بعدي مع عمر حيث كان
“I am from Umar and Umar is from me. The truth, after me, is with Umar wherever he is.” [Al-Tabrani in Awsat, Vol. 3, Page 104, Hadith 2629]

24. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) struck the chest of Umar with his hand when he became Muslim and said,


اللهم أخرج ما في صدر عمر من غل وداء، وأبدله إيمانا - ثلاثا
“O Allah take out from the heart of Umar rancour and disease in exchange for faith.” (Three times) [Jami' al-Ahadith, Hadith 4812]

25. Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


أتاني جبريل عليه السلام فقال: أقرىء عمر السلام وقل له: إن رضاه حكم، وإن غضبه عزّ
“Jibril, upon him peace, came to me and said, Convey greeting to Umar and say to him his satisfaction is wisdom and his anger might.” [Al-Tabrani in Kabir, Vol. 10, Page 207, Hadith 12302]

26. A freed bondswoman of Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


إن الشيطان لم يلق عمر منذ أسلم إلا خر لوجهه
“Satan has not meet Umar since he became Muslim except murmur in his face.” [Al-Tabarani in Al-Kabir, Vol. 18, Page 42, Hadith 20230]

27. Sayyiduna Abu Dhar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) saw Umar and said,


لا تصيبنكم فتنة ما دام هذا فيكم
“You shall not be afflicted with tribulation as long as he is amongst you.” [Al-Tabarani in Awsat, Vol. 4, Page 478, Hadith 2019]

28. Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al-Khudari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


من أبغض عمر فقد أبغضني، ومن أحب عمر فقد أحبني
“Whoever hates Umar hates me. Whoever loves Umar loves me.” [Al-Tabarani in Awsat, Vol. 14, Page 493, Hadith 6915]

29. Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said,


إن كان إسلام عمر لفتحاً وهجرته لنصراً، وإمارته رحمة، والله ما استطعنا أن نصلي عند البيت الكعبة ظاهرين
“If the Islam of Umar was an opening his migration was a victory and his leadership mercy. I swear by Allah that we were unable to pray at the Ka’aba publically until Umar became Muslim.” [Al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahîhayn‎, Vol. 3, Page 90 Hadith 4487]
 
30. Sayyiduna Ammar ibn Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said,


يا عمار أتاني جبريل آنفاً فقلت: يا جبريل حدثني بفضائل عمر بن الخطاب في السماء فقال: يا محمد لو حدثتك بفضائل عمر منذ ما لبث نوح في قومه ألف سنة إلا خمسين عاما ما نفدت فضائل عمر
“O Ammar, Jibril came to me and I asked, “O Jibril narrate to me the virtues of Umar ibn Al-Khattab in the heavens.” He said, “O Muhammad, if I was to narrate the virtues of Umar from the time that Nuh remained with his people, nine hundred and fifty years, I would not exhaust the virtues of Umar.” [Abu Y’alla in Musnad, Vol. 4, Page 173, Hadith 1568]

The Covering of the Kaaba replaced



HOLY KAABA COVERING REPLACED WITH A NEW COVERING (SPA) 9-12-1432 h

Makkah, Dhu-AlHijjah 9, 1432, Nov 5, 2011, SPA

The covering of the Holy Kaaba in Makkah was replaced today, Saturday the ninth of the month of Dhu-AlHijjah.

The customary annual replacement of the cover of the Kaaba was carried out by the personnel of the General Presidency of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.

They lowered the old dress of Kaaba and replaced it with the new dress which was made of pure silk at the factory of the covering of the Holy Kaaba.

The process to replace the dress took place in the presence of employees General Presidency of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque and the factory of the covering of the Holy Kaaba.

It is worth mentioning that the total cost of the dress of Kaaba is 20 million riyals.
